Plastic Surgery for Men

Competition in the business world imposes a common viewpoint. Businessmen turn to cosmetic surgery as a way to shift the stigma that an older man is not trendy and therefore not as effective as a younger man in the very same job. Men have special needs when it comes to plastic surgery, and there are some special operations just for men. Although rarely discussed, enlarged male breasts (also known as gynecomastia) are a common condition. Gynecomastia affects approximately 40 to 60 percent of men. In most cases, there is no known cause for the gynecomastia, although there has been correlation with obesity, drug use, and some medical conditions. By removing fat and/or glandular tissue from the breasts, men who feel self-conscious about their appearance can gain new confidence.

Cosmetic surgery in men uses many of the same procedures as in women. However, because of the structure of a man's body there are many technical differences.
