Events & Organizations Supported

Tracy, CA – The Portuguese Hall Tracy Ballroom will be transformed into a winter wonderland full of elaborately designer-decorated Christmas trees and wreaths, and lights, all set to kick-off the holiday season. All proceeds of the event help to improve the lives of Tracy’s children. In addition to funding the CPR for Kids program, the Foundation is tackling one of the most serious issues facing children today – obesity. This year, Festival funds were used to launch Project Fit America and Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH), two national programs that teach children about health and fitness.

Run for the Ribbon and Women’s Health Fair Bigger and Better than Ever! Breast cancer fundraiser adds half marathon to choice of events September 30

TRACY, CA – Walk, run or just come have fun at the seventh annual Run for the Ribbon & Women’s Health Fair, Saturday, September 30. The excitement starts with a new USATF-certified half marathon, followed by a USATF-certified 10K run and 5K run/walk. Sign up the entire family for the two-mile Pamela Shenk Memorial Walk or let the little ones go wild at the free 50-yard dash for children under 12.

The morning includes live entertainment, a pre-race aerobics warm up, prizes and awards for overall and age division winners. Registered participants receive a free pancake breakfast courtesy of the Tracy Fire Department and race t-shirt.

Proceeds from this year’s event benefit the Cancer Support Services Center of Tracy now located inside Healthy Connections, Sutter Tracy’s one-stop health information and resource center. The center offers a wide range of support services – including a Cancer Information Library and cancer support group – for people diagnosed with cancer, their family members, friends and caregivers.

“The people in the support group are so courageous and have helped me tremendously,” says breast cancer survivor Gayle Allen. “People shouldn’t hesitate to take advantage of the group and the center’s other services. No one should have to go through this alone.”
