Eyelid Surgery
Cosmetic eyelid surgery in Tracy, CA, also known as blepharoplasty or an eyelid tuck, is increasingly common for older facial rejuvenation patients. This is a procedure to remove fat, along with excess skin, from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and the puffy bags under the eyes – features that make you look older and more tired than you feel. The effect is to give the eyes a more rested, youthful look with a brighter appearance.
For men and women living in such California communities as Modesto and Stockton, facial rejuvenation to restore eyelid appearance is a great way to refresh the eyes and look more alert. Request a Consultation online at Dr. McNemar’s San Ramon or Tracy locations and receive $500 off a series of 3 skin resurfacing treatments using Portrait® PSR³, an innovative treatment that stimulates the skin’s natural regenerative process.

Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids, or both in a combined procedure. After this procedure, your eyes can be opened wider for a more youthful look. This surgery can be performed in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures in Tracy, such as a brow lift and skin resurfacing, or facelift.

Eyelid surgery improves sagging upper eyelids, puffiness and bags in the lower eyelid for a more youthful, alert appearance. Facial rejuvenation patients begin their eyelid surgery when Dr. McNemar makes an incision within the natural crease of the upper eyelid, allowing access to remove excess skin, muscle and underlying fatty tissue. Using an incision inside the lower eyelid (transconjunctival), fat is removed or redistributed and muscle modified to correct a baggy lower eyelid. An incision just below the lower lash line allows excess skin to be removed. Laser resurfacing may be used to smooth lower lid skin.
Eyelid surgery is generally performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia with sedation; general anesthesia may be recommended. Bruising and swelling occurs to some degree but in most cases bruising subsides in 5 to 10 days, while swelling subsides in 2 to 4 weeks. Swelling dissipates and final results appear in 1 to 2 months. Incision lines continue to refine and fade for up to 1 year.
